Boomerangs always return. Operation Boomerang was developed from a personal experience with the playwright’s mother and other elderly relatives being placed in aged care as well as the importance of returning to Country for many of Aboriginal people when they know their time is near. Cultural and spiritual needs versus societal expectations drive this work as a kookie Indigenous family try to support their sassy matriarch’s sunset wishes. |
