Description |
"Hopping To Byzantium comes to us courtesy of a writing collaboration between Brian Clark (the writer of the stage version of Whose Life Is It Anyway) and Kathy Levin (founder of an international charity recruiting voluteer childern to nursing homes). The play's central character is a modern, upwardly mobile woman living in New York, Jessica Fox (played by Rachel Ward). On a visit to a nursing home, motivated by the desire to clinch a deal, to see a client's aunt (Colleen Clifford), Jessica meets Saul Drachman (Norman Kaye), a wheelchair-bound 78 year old cripple with one leg. Saul is cantankerous and cynical but a friendship between him and Jessica begins to develop." |
