Description |
A bare room. Two small windows, like eye sockets in a skull, sit high up on the back wall. The world outside is dead, as if destroyed by an apocalyptic event. Inside are the survivors. A blind man, Hamm, is confined to a wheelchair. His servant Clov is unable to sit. Hamm's legless parents Nagg and Nell live in separate ashbins, unable to kiss. Bunkered down inside their shelter, they tell stories to keep the dark away, repeat daily rituals and play out the last moves of their civilization. |
