Description |
"About a young man who, after living as a bohemian artist, returns with an illness to his home. The illness he carries is yphilis, though not mentioned in the play. His mother is dismayed when he falls in love with her maid, who is in reality his half sister. The play illustrates that the compulsion to retain a respectable facade can destroy individuals and families." |
