| Description |
The action of the play spans the part of the Gospel story from the temptation in the wilderness up to an including the crucifixion. Jesus here is portrayed as a rebellious, fiery, Galilean carpenter who believes that people should try to love their enemies rather than fight all the time, but who is racked by self doubt as to his divinity and as to whether or not he is the popularly anticipated Messiah. |
