| Description |
A one person show about the Powells, a family of puppeteers who have been performing Punch and Judy shows on Brighton Pier for over three centuries. The three scenes include the original Powell's Puppet Show performed in 1730; a jaded and incompetent Victorian puppeteer who dreams of music hall fame; and an Edwardian showman complete with straw boater and striped blazer. This play was performed for the Royal family to celebrate the Queen's birthday in 1979. |
