| Description |
"First staged in 1969 and moving around the country and to London and the USA in the 70s, Rooted is a raw Australian comedy in the vein of Muriel's Wedding and The Castle - black, raw, and very funny. Its protagonist is Bentley - soft and trying desperately to keep afloat in a world where he has no roots, no solid background or support system to keep his head above water. It is about his struggle to find the great Australian dream, in a world where people vote for the majority and leave the little man stranded." |
