Description An idol has been defined as a "person, thing that is the object of excessive devotion; phantom". "IDOL interrogates all that is sacred between stars (of show biz, pop music, and the cinema) and their adoring fans. The borderline between the idol and the fan blurs, and at times seems to disintegrate altogether. It is a show of extraordinary comic vitality, wit and schizoid energy. It explodes the conventional audience-actor relationship. It has been hailed as hectic, vocal, musical and aggressive, at times muted and lyrical."
