| Description |
A kitchen maid, Grusha, saves the governor's abandoned child and cares for it through a perilous journey. The Governor's wife returns, demanding the child. Both women have to face a custody case for the child in a Solomonic test of the chalk circle. So whose child is it? The one who gave birth, or the one who cared for it? |
