Description |
A musical tribute to Lorenz Hart and Richard Rodgers. November 2003 marked the 50th anniversary of the death of Lorenz Hart, probably the wittiest and most poetic of all Broadway's lyricists. He met the 16 year old Richard Rodgers in 1918 . Rodgers played his music for the older man, Hart read his lyrics aloud. By the end of the meeting both felt they had found a partner. Together they went on to create some of the greatest musicals of the first half of the 20th century, among them Pal Joey, The Boys From Syracuse and On Your Toes. |
