Description |
The Cassidys wrestle with God, but their's is not a benevolent Lord. He is harsh, even cruel, yet they cling to their faith with a stoicism and thousand-mile gaze born of adversity. The three brothers all do God's work in their own ways: Martin through fighting the red infiltration of workers on the Warragamba Dam; Paddy resisting temptation and trying to keep the illusion of family together; and Dan, slowly losing his sight but remaining true to a vision of grace and humility. In the midst of them all is Aggie, married to Dan through good times and bad, for whom the weight of heaven seems more |
