| Description |
The Greek legend of Orpheus has captured the imaginations of creative artists over the centuries. Gluck used this universal story to break the rigid conventions of late baroque music theatre and create a new operatic form. In this famous version, Hector Berlioz has adapted Gluck's original masterpiece for an all-female cast. |
