Inner city Sydney 1931 The Depression has taken hold. Men walk the Hungry Mile of the docks searching for work. Women eke out what little food, clothing and shelter they can. The Unemployed Workers Movement is being formed, and in Union Street, Newtown, the UWM fights its first battle - supporting a family under siege from the police because of their refusal to obey an eviction order. |
