Description "Adios Cha Cha is billed as 'a show of strength' and indeed it is. It explores the processes that lie behind the struggle for liberation of an imaginary country still dominated by the icons of Christianity, exploited by a landed elite and suppressed by a military regime hostile to its own people. The real strength of this production lies in its thoughtful, compassionate and clear-sighted representations of 'the people', invariably the oppressed peasants, men women and children who live in misery, ignorant of the political and economic processes they serve and fearful of undertaking any action to radically change the iniquitous social order.... The play abounds in beautifully wrought, economical scenes, sometimes poignant, sometimes terrifying, hilariously ironic and vibrantly funny. The structure of the play, the writing, the music and the devastating performances from every member of the cast combine to present a compelling portrait of humanity, ennobled by optimism and hope."
