Description |
Kagome was a music theatre experience created by Nadoya Music and Dance Company that magically interweaved butoh movement and contemporary dance with eastern and western music. The dancers, in addition to butoh training, brought their own vocabularies and cultural backgrounds to the work (Australian, Japanese & Malaysian). Likewise, the musicians bring their own backgrounds and instruments: Koto (Japanese Zither), Trinidad Steel drum, shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute), ken tieyu (Vietnamese oboe), voice, percussion, electric bass guitar and sound processing. |
