'Hybrid' was a collective project which grew out of a short work from Open Week at The Performance Space in 1990. It worked with an original sound score, film and dance, weaving these together to capture aspects of the body not usually visible or emphasised in dance.
"In Hybrid, the body is not simply used as an instrument, rather it is the inspiration and the foundation for the work. Hybrid is a dance performance in three parts, each part referring to a different body section - the Chest, the Limbs and the Pelvis. Through film and sound this articulated body is related to the organs of sensation and communication." |
