| Description |
"Black Comedy came into being when Kenneth Tynan, Dramatic Adviser of the National Theatre, asked Mr. Shaffer if he had an idea for a short play suitable for the Chichester Festival - thus Black Comedy was commissioned by Sir Laurence Olivier for the Festival. As soon as it appeared, the comedy was a tremendous success in England's National Theatre." |
