Description Inspired partly by Georg Büchner's play Woyzeck and Martin Scorsese's film Taxi Driver, Simon Stephens wrote Motortown over four feverish days during the London bombings of 2005. Simon Stephens writes: "This is a play about England at war. It is a play about the fallout of the war on terror. It is also a play about the fallout of the war in Iraq. An acclaimed and explosive response to the anti-war movement and to war itself."
