Theatre of Desire's starting point for The Frankenstein Twist was our personal and societal need to have monsters. The monster can be defined as the physical manifestation of nameless dread. By identifying a monster, we give our fear a name and we can contain and destroy it. The Frankenstein Twist deals with the monstrous by trying to evoke nameless dread in the audience: moments when their spines turn to ice and their flesh crawls.
