Description |
Performed: the bottle trick, pouring for the audience different types of spirits out of the same bottle, the bottle was then broken and a canary emerged; hid two audience members' rings inside two oranges; a marked handkerchief was made to disappear and reappear amongst the audience; illusion tricks were done with marked coins; different mugs with different contents were transposed with sleight of hand; card tricks; guessing ages; oranges were turned into biscuits and canned meats; nuts for sale were found to contain the purchase money; 'gun trick'. |

Fitz Roy Hotel was the old Amateur Theatre. Attendance so numerous that not all could be seated. I assume that the 'gun trick' refers to the ability to catch a bullet with one's teeth, as this was the previous description of the 'gun trick' when used to describe the feat of a circus performer earlier in this newspaper.
