Further Information Some dispute about where the play was first performed. Eunice Hanger in Three Australian Plays (Minneapolis: U of Minnesota P, 1968) maintains that it was in Wollongong in 1955, while a manuscript (H1132C) of the play in the Hanger Collection, Fryer Library states that it was first performed at the Independent Theatre, Sydney on 29 August 1955.
