Description "The Untended Garden brings carefully stored props back to life in an extraordinary collaboration with the Link Company. The Untended Garden is a cornucopia of remnants from forgotten operas, dumps and pre-loved objects. They share their retirement in this fantastic home. The work takes inspiration from Maurice Ravel's Les Enfant De La Sortilege (The Children of Magic). The objects' former histories are examined as they are brought back to life through a process of Disney-fication. The placement and animation of the object is amplified with live object composition through a resurrection and recording of the objects' sex, life and death, like a modern version of the haunting sixteenth century Vanitas paintings of a skull, rotten fruit bowl and candle. Then, clad in schoolgirl grey, the performers / prop manipulators are often secondary and superseded by the starring roles of objects in what appears to be a baroque saloon wasteland."
