The Hobart Theatre Guild with X=O and The Launceston Players with The Dark Lady of the Sonnets were equal winners of the Fourth Tasmanian Drama Festival, sharing the Catherine Duncan Cup. The Ulverstone Repertory Society with The Twelve Pound Look won the Australian Broadcasting Corporation award and the Devonport Repertory Theatre Society won the Launceston Players Trophy for their performance.
