Description |
Out Of Water was originally a 40 minute work choreographed for the One Extra Company in Sydney with three performers Kristina Chan, Lina Limonsanna and Kathy Coghill. For the dancers of LINK, I have taken 10 minutes from this piece and also 5 minutes from Gossamer a work choreographed for the Sydney Dance Company's Director's Cut season in 2006. Out Of Water originally informed Gossamer, so thematically and musically there was a connection for me with these two pieces. Water was used as a metaphor in this work to represent the human unconscious. It's our essence, and where we've originated from. This unconscious and cellular memory merges with the choreography to create a sense of isolation as an individual, in relationship to the ever-continuing life force. |
