The festival to celebrate Id 'was observed with prayers at the mosque with great pomp and gladness ... During the [next] day and night there was a continual string of amusements: Afghan dancing, theatricals, wrestling, and lifting weights. Faiz Mahomet provided seats for over 300 people to witness the amusements, and all available seats were taken by ladies and gentlemen.' |
