Three ballets please large local audience |
| Abstract/Description |
Although greatly handicapped by the limited space on the small stage, the National Theatre Ballet Co. gave a splendid performance at the Crystal Theatre last night when it opened its three-night season. [...] The company opened its programme with "Les Sylphides," which creates the original spirit of the ballet danced in the conventional "moonlit glade." its second offering was "The Listeners," a story of "The Traveller" who arrives at an abandoned house which holds intimate memories of his past life [...]. Undoubtedly the main attraction for the large audiences was "Corroboree," and in this they saw something entirely different in ballet entertainment. |
