Fire damages B. Hill Palais: Heavy loss in instruments, band music |
| Abstract/Description |
Damage estimated at several thousand pounds was caused by a fire at the Palais de Danse shortly after 1 a.m. today. Central and South fire brigades made a good save and prevented the fire spreading to other buildings in the vicinity. The bandstand at the northern end of the dance hall was completely destroyed with a piano, musical instruments owned by members of the Palais orchestra, and scores valued at about £400. |
