The Roaring Days! |
| Abstract/Description |
The dramatic history of Broken Hill, Australia's greatest mining field, will be brought to the stage on Saturday in the brand-new musical comedy "The Roaring Days!" "The Roaring Days!" is to be presented by the Broken Hill Repertory Society and is a fitting climax to the 1964 season, the first presented entirely at the Playhouse, Railway Town. Written by radio announcer John Pickup, with music by local pianist Roy Mitchell, the story of the musical follows closely the history of Broken Hill and Silverton. The story of the prospecting and development of these fabulous riches is full of personalities, with whom most Broken Hill people are familiar. These men, appropriately bearded and costumed, will now step out of history on to the stage. |
