Clever Turns At Tivoli |
| Abstract/Description |
"Variety on Parade," which opened last night at the Tivoli, includes a number of turns of marked originality and cleverness. The star of the show is the American comedian Ben Blue, who is well known through films. This little and agile dancer, who specialises in the grotesque, is at his best in a Russian dance, which brings the house down, and a crazy finale, in which he makes ludicrous attempts to damp the exuberance of his partners. Sylvia and Leslie Kellaway bring humour and vitality to their dancing, and the Diamond Girls provide pleasing interludes of ballet The singing of Laurel Mather, feats with a bicycle by Will Duffy, and turns by the "Queens of Variety" are further items in a diversified programme. |
