[Mr R J Roberts] |
| Abstract/Description |
Mr. R. J. Roberts, the Irish comedian, of Mr. Garner's London Comedy Company, now performing at the Theatre Royal, left Adelaide for Melbourne on Saturday, November 15, in order to superintend the production of the pantomime 'Robinson Crusoe' at the Opera House in that city. This pantomime was originally produced at the Alexandra Theatre, Liverpool, the part of Mrs. Crusoe being written, expressly for Mr. Roberts. The English papers speak in the highest terms of the manner in which Mr. Roberts by his impersonation contributes to the fun and frolic of the play, and Adelaideans will shortly have an opportunity of judging of his performance for themselves as on the conclusion of the Melbourne season the pantomime will be produced here. |
