Title The Theatre [King Lear]
Abstract/Description Wishing to see Knowles as Lear, and our three clever actresses Douglass, Cameron, and Taylor, in the characters of the three daughters, we attended the Theatre on Monday night ... The noise in the house spoilt the little good acting there was ... The scenery and dresses were generally good. And although the play was acted badly on the whole, we are of opinion it could, like Othello and Henry the Fourth, have been very respectably performed, to a well behaved house, half filled.
