| Abstract/Description |
On Tuesday evening, agreeably to announcement, the theatre was opened for the first time in Van Diemen's land, with the play of the Stranger. The stage as the reader is
aware, is erected at one end of the new long room at the Freemason's tavern in Harrington street, and having an alcove roof afforded display for a very neat proscenium. The
stage though small compared with the great theatres of London, is sufficienly large to admit of two or three good scenes. |
