| Title |
"Gaslight" Flickers |
| Abstract/Description |
The atmosphere of a Victorian sitting-room at tea-time is created by a most effective set, and the right eerie and macabre note at the beginning is struck by Michael Pate, who looks sinister, and plays the maniacal murderer with suave power. Diana Lawrie, charming in her dark red dress, evokes immediate sympathy as the frightened wife; but as the evening wears on, illusion goes and comes back again like the gaslight. |
