| Title |
New Play - "Rasputin" |
| Abstract/Description |
In each of the four acts of the new play the mystic monk is made a repulsive, rather than a romantic, character - an unscrupluous adventurer, who brushes aside everyone standing in the path of his ambition, a scoundrel plotting against the honour of his nation, and a libertine of the lowest, type who possesses a Svengali sort of hypnotic power, and who spares no woman, peasant or princess, in the gratification of his sordid schemes. |
