The Blue Lechenaultia costume consists of a blue unitard and fitted hood and a ‘light-up cape’. The costume is constructed in hand painted lycra and the structure in aluminium and foam. Fibre glass rods are inserted into channels in the cape to provide support.
The costume featured in the Nature segment of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony and was worn by one of 40 female performers. It was designed by Eamon D’Arcy and manufactured in the Ceremonies Costume Workshop in Redfern, NSW. |
