| Title |
Little Theatres. Cyrano de Bergerace |
| Abstract/Description |
The lighting was designed to give the audience a general impression of the scenes before them, being subdued, and largely prohibiting one from easily picking out individual personalities in minor parts. One was given an idea of a stage full of individuals welded into one harmonious picture. Had the actors had fine voices to bring them into prominence when required, this effect, by heightening the "aesthetic distance," would have made the production enjoyable as a play as well as a picture. |
