The Jottings of a Lady About Town |
| Abstract/Description |
LADY HALSE ROGERS is the brain behind the University Dramatic Society's production in the Great Hall on May 9, 10 and 11 of Sheridan's "School for Scandal." She saw the comedy played in London in a small, intimate theatre, with an all-star cast, including Michael Redgrave, Peggy Ashcroft, Dorothy Green and Alan Quartermaine, and immediately decided upon a similar production on her return to Sydney. The Great Hall, made available by the Senate for this special occasion, will provide the ideal setting, and the music and dancing, and every detail will be true to the period. The French-Australian League of Help will receive the proceeds of the first night, and the Day Nurseries and Free Kindergartens those of the other two performances. Lord and Lady Wakehurst will be present on May 11. |
