Title Destruction of the Victoria Theatre
Abstract/Description Yesterday morning nothing but the bare and blackened walls and some smouldering debris remained to mark the place where once stood the old Victoria Theatre. From the late entrance to the dress circle back to the high wall encircling the building from adjacent premises, there is nothing but a mass of indistinguishable rubbish. The fire raged fiercely until after 2 o'clock a. m. , constantly threatening up to that hour to envelop in its greedy grasp the shops and buildings placed on every side.
