Sporting Intelligence [Theatricals] |
| Abstract/Description |
On Saturday evening last was introduced, for the first time, at our little Theatre, the farce of the Mayor of Garratt. It is not one of those usually distinguished as "broad farces," although, there are one or two points in it which entitle it to that name. It is from the humorous, but severe pen of Foote, and is intended to burlesque the system of electioneering in small corporations, with an oblique hit or two at " Scarlet Cloth." |
