Advance Australia. The Theatre. |
| Abstract/Description |
The performance, however, had scarcely commenced when a scene of confusion presented itself, originating in the chagrin of the friends of certain of the performers where great misconduct in the morning had caused Mr. Levey to appoint other persons to perform in their room. They had industriously spread a report that Mr Levey had grossly ill-treated them, and on their remonstrating had at a moment's warning removed them contrary to agreement; and accordingly a number of blackguards—they deserve no better name—attended for the purpose of preventing the performance going on by the persons whom Mr. L. had been under the necessity of appointing. |
