| Abstract/Description |
The Marriage of Figaro was performed, on the evening of Saturday last. The piece is well cast, comprising nearly the whole
strength of the company, and yet the first representation, we have no hesitation in saying, was a downright failure. Why? Because the performers were, one and all, imperfect. Was this piece "got up" in a hurry? If it was not, then we can make no allowance for the evident want of study which was evinced by the performers, male and female. |
