Title Laying of Foundation Stone at Town Hall
Abstract/Description The foundation stone of the great hall, which is to form part of the buildings in connection with the Sydney Town Hall, was laid yesterday afternoon by the Mayoress, in presence of a very large assemblage. The number of people able to see anything of the proceedings was certainly limited, as the ceremony was performed in an excavation prepared to receive the foundations, and very few could obtain a view of what was going on except those in the small enclosure surrounding the stone.
