Title Royal Marionette Theatre
Abstract/Description The building lately known as tho Olympic Circus, in Castlereagh street, was re-opened last night, for the laughable and well-contrived performances of the wood, wax, and pasteboard Marionettes, the theatre having been repaired and re-decorated in those parts where it had suffered from fire. Notwithstanding the many other attractions to the public last night, especially the benefit of Madame Sara Flower, at the Victoria, the Marionettes made their bow to a well filled house ; and their performances, which were agreeably diversified, were received with unalloyed merriment and applause. The costumes, scenery, and machinery, display considerable taste and skill on the part of the manager, who, with his company, managed the verbal portion of the business very creditably. During the intervals between the performances of the Marionettes, some tolerable singing and hornpipe dancing was introduced. Signor Blitz, whose mystic performances and clever legerdemain tricks have been a source of amusement at the Royal Hotel, is again before the public at the Royal Marionette Theatre.
