A review of the 2024 contemporary dance show 'Only the Stars Know Where I've Been' at Basement Theatre in Tāmaki Makaurau. Jane Smolira mulls over the emotional experience of being in the audience: "The performance creates a space that holds. It holds you in the setting, and it’s not necessarily an uncomfortable confrontation of thoughts. When I watch it, I can be distracted by the beautiful dancing, and just focus on that if I want." |
