Notes	New venue built for Kelly and Leon on the first floor above shops corner York and King Street. They had relinquished the lease by April and the venue was used intermittently until July when it was used by the Victoria company after fire destroyed that theatre. Solicitor Mr. J. Maclaughlin purchased the theatre in July for under £4,000. WJ Wilson took up the lease in late 1880, refurbished and changed the name to Opera House. SMH claimed seating 1100 but probably closer to 850-900.
