Lionel Lesire was born in 1969 in Belgium. Award-winning painter and engraver, he came to the theater as a painter at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels. For a time assistant to scenographers like B. Dugardyn, J. Jara, or R. Sabonghi, he designed his first sets and costumes for the theater in 1992. It was in 2000 that he created opera costumes for the first time. with "Simone Boccanegra" by Verdi, directed by Stephen Lawless, production: New-Zealand festival in Wellington NZ. Sets and costumes combined, he has signed more than a hundred productions for theater, dance and opera. |
