Ensemble Offspring Crossing the Finnish Line performs:
A Portrait of Katia Saariaho (2pm) - this Finnish Composer has recently emerged as a leading female composer, weaving colours, overtones and exotic timbres into an intricate language. This program presents a seamless cycle of her works involving live interactions between performer and computer.
Continental Drift (at 4pm) - from Scandinavia to the Antipodes, Ensemble Offspring slides across continents performing works from leading Finnish composer Magnus Lindberg, upcoming vice Johann Tallgren and compositions by local lads Damien Ricketson, Matthew Shlomowitz, Andrew Ford and Ben Marks. |
