Courtesy Darren Knight Gallery, Sydney and Uplands Gallery, Melbourne. Jon campbell uses a minimalist pop style to depict the archetypal Aussie backyard. His work smacks of 'irony free suburban bravado' but at The Studio, the work is imbued with contextual irony as it creates a most unlikely troupe l'ceil for Australia's architectural icon. There will be more than a double take as Utzon's masterpiece temporarily boasts a humble lawn, shed and barbecue. |
