Description |
The bag lady has been portrayed in popular mythology as a nuggety, rebellious, independent - and sometimes even rich - woman whose special brand of madness has led her to prefer a free life on the streets, to Welfare or the restrictions of responsible social life. For Lilly and May the reality is far from this commonly held view of eccentricity. |

Further Information |
"Audience was Playbox staff as the site had no occupancy certificate. Lighting was what I rigged up (very basic). No sets, basic costumes from previous season. The only reason I mention it is that it was effectively the first Malthouse performance in the same way as Paul Robeson sang at the incomplete Opera House."
