| Description |
An installation by Amsterdam-based Australian artist Gary Carsley translates the panoramas of the nearby Building Information Centre into catwalk model solutions for the homebuilder and renovator. All necessary items for the construction and furnishing of the Ideal Homo are assembled here, drawing attention to the fact that DIY is a highly sophisticated act of self-portraiture. This installation recognises the Dream Home is a construct built in no small measure on aesthetic principles authored by queer individuals. |
